Freedom Flight Academy is a veteran-founded nonprofit powered paragliding school based in Southern Kentucky. We provide flight training to both veterans and civilians, with all proceeds helping fund scholarships that allow veterans to train and fly at little to no cost. More than a flight school, we’re a community built on trust, camaraderie, and the shared joy of taking to the skies. Our mission is to give veterans a renewed sense of purpose and adventure—one flight at a time.

Morning Flights
Sunrise is around 530am and the landscape keeps the river valleys and farmland shaded for fun, foggy mornings. It is worth waking up early for.
Daytime Activities within 5 minutes
The event is held at a State Park featuring a pool, diner, lakeside cabins, disk golf course, marina with boat rentals, basketball and tennis courts. There is a children's playground at the south end of the runway.
Lafayette Golf Course has a free shuttle for the event. Located at Falls of Rough Resort, a few miles west of the airport.
Night Life
Sunset is at 8pm, afterwards you can catch kariokie at the Resort Pub.
Friday night there is a Bluegrass Concert until 10pm!
STOL / Competitions

Props, Spark Plugs, Oil, and more available from vendors on the field.
Fuel and Lodging
There is a gas station 500 feet across the road that has all forms of fuel, including ethanol free.
The State Park Lodge and two motels are within sight of the airport; Falls of Rough Resort is only 5 minutes away. Ask for special event rates when inquiring about rooms.
